And the trees that were on the western side of the car park and available to give some shade if parking there in the afternoon, are gone. I wondered what had happened to them. Sorry that is hardly bird related......

I did notice when I was at Jerra wetlands last Friday that a lot of the weeds HAVE been removed, thistles sprayed and dead, dead or overgrown stuff cut back a bit and the cuttings stacked, the forest in front of Fulica hide removed so you can once again see the water....  Not all areas (eg, still very weedy towards the covered bridge), but at least some work has been done recently, and I did not see a single rabbit!!  (LOTS of sacred kingfishers - at least six seen, including dependent young, and also dollarbirds, including a juvenile).
