I agree with Philip.

I will note my puzzlement that something from WESTERN Australia would be the EASTERN Reef Egret.  On taking a squizz at Avibase (http://avibase.bsc-eoc.org/species.jsp?lang=EN&avibaseid=DF32B1F9C576957F) it emerges that the African Reef Heron is also known as the Western Reef Egret.

Oh the joys of bird nomenclature!!

And I did not think about Eastern Reef Egret. But that it is mostly pale, rather than dark, grey and that it does have the white on the chin and in particular the two tone grey on the wing, with the primaries and secondaries (mostly hidden) being clearly darker than the rest of the bird, is not fitting of grey morph of the Eastern Reef Egret.

Interesting. Philip identified this as a juvenile White-faced Heron but my initial thought was a grey morph of the Eastern Reef Egret.

Is it possible for a white-faced heron not to have a white face?  I shot this in Fremantle, WA last summer.
