Those who enjoyed the exquisite Birds of Paradise film on ABC tv last night might not have known that Paul Igag, one of the two PNGean biologists featured, died suddenly very recently. Some very moving and eloquent memorials to his too-short birding life  can be found at:

His colleague, Miriam Supuma, is alive and well in Goroka at the PNG Institute of Biological Research (
