Thanks to all who responded.
The most popular suggestion was Sharp-tailed
Sandpiper but the one I have settled on after further investigation is Red
Knot.
Clearly I need to spend more time on the beaches
and lakes of the far south coast and if that's the burden I have to bear to
increase my shorebird experience then I am willing to bear it.
