Why kill the centipede?  It won't hurt you provided you don't pick it up.
The attached was a beautiful specimen wandering about at night looking for food while we were away in the desert
earlier this year.  We actually fed it a beetle & a moth - what a reaction.

The other attached photo are our Cunningham friends who were lined up to greet us when we arrived back home, just
after coming out of the winter torpor.
