The numbers were diminishing during September. I last checked on the 24th September when they had reduced considerably from a previous estimate of 250 on 22 August (tho a count reported by Chris Tidemann at that time showed more than 500 still there.)  On 24th Sept, there were none in the bare treees south of the pines (where they had been for most of the winter), but still a few in the pines. I didnt try an estimate with the flurry of Floriade in process.but I would guess 100 or less?

My recollection was that a large proportion of the colony overwintered this year for the first time, including surviving various rock concerts and fireworks displays.  There are none there now: does anyone know when they vanished and why?

They do stay for the summer but they are not back from their winter sojourn in a warmer clime yet.
