Attached photo taken in a Curtin garden shows the ingenuity of a Spotted Pardalote when it comes to nesting.  Having located the hole in the railway sleeper it has proceeded to excavate - dirt excavated can be seen below the hole.  The bird has been seen entering & leaving.  When disturbed it sits quietly in a nearby shrub.
