Watching a ml on the intersection grass whilst waiting at the traffic lights in Belconnen  (junction College St and Belconnen Way) as you do..... when there was suddenly a small chick as well.  As the chick wandered nearer to the road, Mama (or Dad) got very agitated and herded it back to the centre of the grass.  So I hope it survives.
