On my way to Guthega 9 August I chanced to view a large flock of Little Ravens ( approx 60) moving high in the sky from the direction of Perisher above Paddy Pallins towards maybe Cooma.?  I wondered where they were going at the time.

Since then until 20 August I also counted at least 20 birds in the Guthega area that were staying in the mountains, in that they were gathering sticks and grass for their nests high up in snow gums.  I observed one pair that have been nesting in the same tree for the last few years just outside the lodge window.  They are amazing in that they can fly even sideways in very high winds and not seem to be bothered by the cold.

There are quite a few LR’s throughout the Perisherblue ski fields area – some of them scavenge food around resort areas.
