Last week at Hawker primary school a group of yellow-rumped thornbills
were putting the finishing touches in a new nest. In ten minutes I saw
two birds bringing in soft lining material and going into the nest
entrance. The nest is in a lower branch of a tall casuarina, about two
metres above where the kinder kids enter their classroom and the seats
where they have their lunch.
