Yes that is early (as a group) but probably not hugely early. Presumably
the 3 pairs
of thornbills building nests were Yellow-rumped

Subject: Early nesting?
I've just come in from the garden, where I just spent 15 minutes
watching one of the local Crested Pigeons building a nest in their usual
Hakea bush down the back. Put this together with the (at least) 3 pairs
of thornbills building nests in the Pinnacle NR and the copulating
Starlings I observed last week, and it seems to me that things are
getting off to an unusually early start this year. No?
