Theer have been a couple of posts already about migrants seeming to be on the move.  I had a flock of 6 Red Wattlebirds pass over late last week and the Dusky Woodswallows are bunching up along Whiskers Creek Rd.

However what generated this message was hearing a Scarlet Robin as I waddled down the Widgiewa Rd hill (about 10km NW of Julienne's place and a little lower elevation) yesterday morning.  Like Julienne I thought that was somewhat early.

I have had similar groups but do not know if it is the post breeding dispersion or the beginning of the autumn mixed feeding flocks. At present I feel most of the groups are the former although a male Scarlet Robin turned up a day or 2 ago. I do not remember previously seeing the male right at my place until the autumn MFF.
