As described in the GBS Report, Mistletoebirds would surely be a common breeder in the reserves in and around Canberra. But the information in the book is derived from the GBS and there would be very few opportunities (or none?) for them to have breeding within GBS sites.

Am I correct in assuming that you are writing from a GBS Site in Hoskintown? If so it is surely not the same habitat as Canberra.

After reading of the lack of breeding records of Mistletoebirds in the lovely new edition of Birds of Canberra Gardens I was determined to get a record. I know they have bred around here for some years but so do the currawongs. Although I have a reasonable idea of where the birds do have a nest I waited until the fledging time and kept a look out.
This morning I heard them caling again. There are 2 young complete with orange gape & bill. I have now seen them 3 times. This last time gave a very good view
