From the water weed hanging off the wire it had obviously been up to the top of the guide posts earlier in the day. This should mean some dampness in Kelly's Desert fairly soon.

As of 4 pm today Kelly's only had a couple of small puddles in it- and the only waterbirds in sight were about 4 Purple Swamp Hens. Otherwise a few Chaffinches, and a pair of adult Dollarbirds hawking vigorously for insects to feed a v. demanding adult-sized young.
