Just home from throwing the tennis ball with our dog down the local park on Mirrool Street in Duffy. Beth and I saw three White-throated Needletails flying high overhead (but still identifialbe to the naked eye) from the park. So others may just have enough light to have a look up outside their backyards and check for more. We also had our first Australian Hobby for the street - actually our third for the day.

We spent most of the morning and early afternoon up in the Brindabellas sightseeing with visiting friends. In between scrubbing around for rare cockroaches and grasshoppers (unsuccessfully, but still some brilliant insects were found) we heard a Cicadabird near Picadilly Circus and a Brush Cuckoo about 2km before the upper turn-off for Warks Road.

Cheers Dan
