I went for a walk yesterday that proved to me you don't have to go far to see
interesting birds. My main purpose was to try to get photos of a pair of Wood
Ducks with chicks on the pond near Learmonth Drive.
I didn't manage to getany decent photos because it was simply too dark.
However, I was surprised by the number of other birds I didn't expect to see
there. I saw the Wood Ducks, but also about 15 others of the same species,
some Black Fronted Dotterel, a White Necked Heron, Pacific Black Ducks as well
as Galahs, White Cockatoos, Red Rumped Parrots, Magpies and Red Wattlebirds.
The Heron in particular was an unexpected bonus.
