I know people
are sick of Koel reports. But on Thursday afternoon I was walking to the shops. I was at
Southwell st in Weetangera and saw 4 koels
fighting for about half an hour. There were 2 females and 2 males- all seen at
once. There was also definitely another male calling a bit further down Southwell street, and one further North, but a fair
distance off.
So 6 koels. I
have never
seen/heard this many in Canberrra. Koels are so hard to see. The advantage of
them fighting was that they could be observed easily as they had other things on
their mind.
Down the coast
you can easily see this many, but not in Canberra.
