I had a farm at Hoskinstown on the edge of the plain. The altitude at my
water tank (up the hill a bit was just over 800m. Allow 70-80m lower for
lever of the plain.

I'd be interested to know what the altitude is at Hoskinstown.
Forshaw's Parrots of the World mentions they are found below 650
metres, which also makes Canberra on the edge.
