Many members will have been present at the October COG meeting and been fascinated by Rob Magrath's very interesting talk on bird communication.

Since then Rob has been in touch with me seeking help from COG members with noisy miner locations within the ACT?

His team is trying to find sites where both noisy miners and fairy-wrens occur, and other sites where there are fairy-wrens but not noisy miners. Currently they have the ANU campus, where both occur, and the Botanic Gardens, where miners are absent.

If any subscribers/COG members can suggest suitable sites could they please contact Rob direct on

Many thanks

Jack Holland
