Hi Geoffrey,
I am certainly aware of the differences in how
people edit there photos (and indeed how a camera captures a particular scene).
This photos is virtually unedited, no sharpening, no/very little contrast,
except for a small crop. Light was very overcast.
I guess this would indicate that the bird is a
westernensis, the rufous flanks do not seem very bright or deep.
