How many wattlebird chicks are there in a typical nest? Our two fledglings have descended from their safe nest atop a large Grevillea to a much more precarious perch in a Cemellia. After initial squawking to call their parents, they are sitting quietly right next to each other about 1.5 m above the ground. The parents are feeding them there. I didn't see them fly down but their tails are a lot shorter that the full adult size and I'm surprised they can manage it.
