when I was there (6.45-8.15am Monday) the native hen was retreating into cover whenever a jogger went past, but re-emerged within a few minutes each time. but the buff-banded rail on the same grassy patch fled for cover only about 2 mins after I arrived and didn't re-appear at all. the Baillons crakes near the bridge of main pond also didn't seem too concerned about passers-by.

The Black-tailed Native-hen was very active while I was at Norwood Pk between 2:30-3 PM. It was foraging on the shady triangular patch of grass along the reedy rivulet in the SW part of the park. When someone passed by it didn’t seem too concerned and did not always run for cover preferring to stop briefly before feeding again.

The ‘resident’ Spotless Crakes were showing well again as usual. I think I have seen this species almost every visit this year. At one point one flew under the bridge and into reeds.

Cheers
