This morning (Mon 21st) there were two sacred kingfishers near the large wooden bridge at Jerrabomberra Wetlands, and another at Callum Brae.
At Norgrove Park the Black-tailed native hen was on the triangle of lawn at the end of bridge in off Dawes St, and when I first arrived at 6.45am there was also a Buff-banded rail on the same patch. (first two birds I saw there, and both new for my ACT list, although I've seen both elsewhere). I saw 5 Baillon's crake, one spotless crake, many goldfinch and several greenfinch. Lots of New Holland honeyeaters, including one without tailfeathers, silvereyes, red-browed finches, wlecome swallows. A black duck in pond at Dawes St end had a single very small duckling, and magpie larks are busy building nest in the smallish eucalypt leaning towards that pond.
