It was in the
vallley down near fishing gap (I have a habit of bush bashing), so
I am not sure how keen I am for a return visit.

The
Red-capped Robins are a good find. They seem to be getting fairly common in
the Mulligans-Goorooyarro reserves lately with over 3-4 birds able to be seen
some years spread out across the reserve.
I’m
not sure about your Koel’s though. As far as I know they have not arrived yet
as they are summer migrants to southern Australia. The first birds don’t tend
to arrive around Sydney and the Blue Mts until late September at the earliest
and we don’t tend to get them until October, and then as far as I know they
only hang around the inner Canberra leafy suburbs.
Not
sure what else you could have heard.
Cheers
Marnix

I found a female and a juvenile Red-capped robin at Mulligan's Flat
yesterday. Right next to the Dunnart gate.
Also heard two Koel's at the far end of Tidbinbilla on the weekend too.
