I own Bushnell Excursion 8x40 binoculars purchased
from Bintel Melbourne Sept. 2007. Even though the strap attachment looks
dubious I have not had any problems to date. However I returned them last
week because the central pivot between the two cylinders has rusted below
the focusing ring. When I spoke to
Bintel Melbourne they advised me to send them to Bintel Sydney because it is
closer to Canberra and also closer to Tasco where they will be examined -
then hopefully replaced rather than repaired. I don't think they are as
good as my Tasco 8x40's which I would still be using had I not drowned them when
I fell out of my kayak ........
