At 12:00 hrs on May 9 at Glebe Park near Civic, I saw a Rufous Fantail flitting along centimetersfrom the top of  low-growing shrubbery. Its lilting, skipping flight reminiscent of Tinkerbell, WaltDisney's pixie sans the sparkle dust. Had a few previous sightings ( the bird, not the pixie) in Canberra mostly during April, usually at ANBG.

Then, lo and behold, a shrill brat burst into lunch breathlessly reporting another Rufous Fantail
in a Higgins backyard.

John Layton.
