On the east side of  Mt Ainslie this morning (8.45 am) I saw a pair of Glossy Black Cockatoos just south of the Ainslie/Majura saddle perched in gums on the upslope side of the powerline. They were hassled by a currawong and flew slowly southward parallel to the powerline. A few minutes earlier I had seen a male Rufous Whistler and a Double-barred Finch -  they had flown across the firetrail between Campbell Offices and Mt Ainslie into small trees beside the road.
A good christening for new binoculars.

Sunday evening, a couple of Glossy Black Cockatoos were seen flying south from the lower dam in Majura Nature Park where they have been observed previously. This dam is found by following the track eastwards from the carpark near corner of Mackenzie and Grayson Sts in Hackett.
