An enhanced ANBG

I was recently corrected that when referring to a "reptile infested grassland" I should have said "reptile enhanced grassland".  Today the ANBG featured reptile enhanced bitumen: see first image. At somewhat over 1.6m, light brown, and slim it reminded me of Shirley Bassey (although I didn't hear it sing).

I then walked on around the gardens seeing a few birds.  There were a lot of White-browed Scrubwrens: I didn't try to count them but over my whole route I would not have been surprised to tally at least 50.  The highlights for me were:

• in the Rainforest Gully a pair of King Parrots up close and personable and a Rufous Fantail.  For the latter I achieved a personal best of getting my camera out, lens cap off and software fired up of 11.5 seconds.  Unfortunately the bird had somewhere else to be after 11 seconds flat. 
• More co-operative was one of two eastern Yellow Robins behind Tom Green's seat.  See second image: the pose reminded me very much of the classic English Robin pose on the handle of a fork!

I think Anthony Overs has commented on the pleasure of sitting on Tom's seat and watching the birds come to you (or at least the water near by.  It was a great 30 minutes.
