Hi Beth

No, that?s a Keyacris look-alike. It?s Acrida conica (F.). On p. 348 of my Guide to Australian Grasshoppers I note about this confusion and how to separate the two. It?s an honest mistake. But I suspect those wasps are having a detrimental effect on the local insects. At one time the ACT was actively pursuing nests of the wasps and they were keeping ahead of the situation, but they must have let their guard down in recent years.

Hope this helps.
