Rainbow Bee-eaters were still around in numbers in the ACT yesterday, Feb 1 2009 in the morning. One group of 30+ were hawking over the Naas River (dry) not far from the Caloola gate. None of them entered the burrows in the bank, so presumably all young had fledged. Another large group was audible further north across private land.

Also saw an Australian Hobby with two immatures. One of them was fed what looked like a yabbie.
