Out at the wetlands around 6 tonight, two Nankeen Herons flew into the central trees in front of the Bittern Hide. One with breeding plumage and the other an immature with mottled front and black cap. I woner if they are the same ones seen earlier this month?

And - do I dare mention a Koel?  I had 1 male and 2 females pass through the front yard around 5pm today being very vocal, then just on dark they were back, flying around and calling very loudly. So the Griffith Koels are alive and well.
They have been calling from varied directions most mornings (early) and evenings for the past couple of months.
