I'm on Streeton Drive, Rivett and I too am being awoken VERY early every morning....not really sure I like Koels...

I might as well add my two cents worth of comment regarding the koels around Canberra. Over the past week there seems to have been one hanging around the Rivett-Weston Ck area. I have heard it several times, including this morning (and several times late last week--including once at 3:30am:)).

Dan Mantle also hears the (presumably) same bird occasionally (over from Duffy).
