Last Monday I found a group of 71 Magpies in a restricted (but still more thanlawn sized) area of a paddock on Plains Rd Hoskinstown, close to the Molonglo River.  This is near the area where I have found groups of 150+ in the past, but generally in Winter rather than late Spring

Hi,

This evening as I passed a house with small front garden in Starke Street, Holt I counted a minimum of 53 Magpies on the lawn.  A group has been there for about 6 months but there has never been that many individuals.  Can anyone report a larger group?  I passed the house again about 15 minutes later as it was getting very dark and all the birds were going to roost in the surrounding trees.
