When I was up in Queensland earlier this year, at Mareeba Wetlands, I met a serious birdo couple from Melbourne, who highly recommended an Aussie guy in the US who runs a personal export business. They had bought their binos through him. His web site is http://www.bonzerimports.com/. I don't have any personal experience of this, so can't guarantee anything, but it could be worth checking out.
