And still at lunch time today.

Very flighty though, and without binoculars I had to rely more an behaviour and flight style to ID. Any approach to about 50 m and the bird was off, low over the water, either back to the island, the pontoon, or around into the other little sandy bay.

The sandpiper was still in the same area this morning, Alastair Smith had already found it when we arrived.

The Wednesday walkers were graced today by a Common Sandpiper initially on the swiming pontoon at McDermott PLace, Lake Ginninderra.  Later it came and walked, teetering, up and down in front of us.  Lindell Emerton got the attached image and we will get some others from our Coloradan guests a little later - when he can get access to a suitable computer. The appropriate message will go to the Rarities Panel rather soon.

When I have had time to organise myself I'll put up a report about the rest of the walk.

Martin
