Glancing up from my computer monitor at 4.50 pm this afternoon, I had a two second glimpse through the window of a raptor at perhaps 30-50 m height flying fast carrying what looked like a pigeon-sized prey (still struggling) downwind in roughly the Mt Ainslie direction. Did anyone else by any chance see it? My impression was a peregrine (size, head colour), though size may have been distorted by the dangling prey. A Hobby is - usually, but not in recent days - a much more usual sighting in this Corroboree Park neighbourhood.
