Hi all

I was down on the Murray River (near Yarrawonga) a couple of days ago and saw a bird that I am simply unable to identify.
Unfortunately, I do not have photos because my camera would not zoom that far, but I was able to get a very good look through the binoculars.

It was a dark grey colour and looked like a small raptor in shape and size (nankeen kestrel or Australian Hobby) because it didn't really have much a neck. Although I would not be surprised if it was not a raptor because the other very distinctive thing was that it's beak was a very bright orange. The beak was not hooked at all like a raptor's is, it was quite straight.

Any help or suggestions would be very much appreciated.

Erin
