To all contributors,

Having been off-air for a few days due to a crashed computer I have missed the discussion concerning the reporting of birds on the chat-line.

It is of the view of both myself as President and of the Manager of the Discussion list (chat-line) that the list is just that- a chat-line.  As such all contributors are welcome to express their views and their observations.  It is important that contributors use the 'message line' in an appropriate way so that those who do not want to know further about a particular subject are in a position to skip the particular message.

The chat-line has been set up to be used by both the experienced bird observer and the not so experienced so that we can all learn from the views, experiences and observations of others.  It should be remembered though that your interesting observations cannot be used in the  future unless they are entered onto the COG database.
