On the Hume Highway yesterday morning close to the new turnoff to Temora/Harden (COG grid C3), a Black Kite was feeding on roadkill.  This is the first time I have seen this species east of Cowra (seen a few years ago when the abattoir was still operating there), although when chatting to Chris Davey this evening he said he has seen one over Holt and others at Belconnen tip - perhaps about once every 3 years.

I had been surveying a few sites on Burrinjuck Road and was, as always, delighted to see Superb Parrots, including 3 males feeding on wattle seeds.
