I couldn't find Barbara's bird between 2-3 pm today.

Plenty of breeding activity and some nice birds but no Black-eared Cuckoo.

- White-necked Heron
- Pallid Cuckoo
- a far off bronze-cuckoo heard (on private property)
- Dusky Woodswallow
- White-winged Triller
- Sacred Kingfisher
- White-throated Gerygone
- Western Gerygone
- Leaden Flycatcher
- Tree Martin

and a large Bearded Dragon just before the tharwa bridge.

Cheers,

Seen on the woodland walk behind the Namadgi Visitors Information Centre
this morning. A most obliging bird, posed, called, moved from tree to tree
in the sunlight, showed off its diagnostic undertail coverts, probed in a
tree trunk and ate a caterpillar-like object it found. A great
photo-opportunity but I was, alas, without a camera. For anyone passing
the VIC at the weekend, it might be worth stopping briefly to check if it
is still there – and if so to record it for the blitz. Lots of other action
as usual in that spot which would be a really good site for a beginner to
check out for the blitz. b
