Subject: [canberrabirds] Boobok
movements
An alternative hypothesis to humans disturbing roosting
Booboks is: that they are relocating from their winter quarters and are forced
into using suboptimal daytime roosts and, hence, more readily discovered by the
usual vigilantes. They have been prominent in the inner
north suburbs in the last 2 weeks. On one occasion three were 3 birds
calling within a small radius and I am certain that these are not resident in
the area.
