We stayed in Mataranka several weeks ago
and watched them building their nest. Got some great photos too.

Barbara and I are having a great time here.
I am having fun re-learning raptors. Usually you only
see one at a time but of course not here.
The other day I was at a dam and there were 10 Little Eagles
soaring above me of every conceivable morph. No Whistling Kites and you
have to check.
Loafing in a tree were half a dozen Black Kites which I
gave a courser glance too and then I looked back and sitting quietly among them
was a Red Goshawk and this was only 20 feet away!
For those who know Mataranka the local Red Goshawk is
nesting there in a front yard. I have been lucky enough to go that way
each week and I am expecting to see chicks next week.
