Surely not. Especially not when both species are common. Apart from that they have very different nesting preferences.
 

Yeah, overlooked the different nesting requirements, but on the issue of common species let’s look at Eastern & Crimson Rosellas, plenty of both locally yet hybids aren’t rare. So what drives these particular cross-species liaisons?
