As usual, Noela and I surveyed in the Tarcutta area and are delighted to be able to report seeing three Swift Parrots in Grey Box in the Nest Hill Nature Reserve which is a bit to the south of Livingston National Park. There was no eucalypt flowering nor much lerp anywhere in that region so it is possible that the birds were just passing through.

Other obs of interest in mid-winter: a flock of Dusky Woodswallows incl immatures on Back Sandy Gully Road near Adelong, and an Olive-backed Oriole at Posts TSR near Tarcutta.

Any other swifties seen this weekend in our region?

David
