Further to the comment that Benj made on 26 June re a lot of flower this year, many of the planted Ironbarks in Summerland Circuit, Kambah are in flower, some yellow, some red and others pink.  Heaps of Red Wattlebirds in them.  I also saw an urban Red Box Eucalyptus polyanthemos in flower this afternoon, which is a little early in the year.  And last time I was at the Jerrabomberra Wetlands, I think in June, there were many different Eucalypts in flower, with various species of honeyeaters feeding in good numbers.

I also wanted to let subscribers to this line know about a project I have been working on over the past three months - the link to Canberra birds being that it is a photographic collection of remnant Eucalypts in Canberra.  I have commenced with the woodland trees (melliodora and blakelyi) but plan to add others as time permits.  There is the odd bird in some of the photos, but not many.  The link is: http://www.flickr.com/photos/eucalyptus_melliodora/  and I welcome any feedback and advice on the location of any remnant trees that I can add to the collection.

Regards
