A pair of Brown Thornbills started nesting near our place in Cook a week ago on Sat Jun 28. After taking thin strips from stringybarks for three days, plus an egg sac, they then moved on to smaller grasses and solya, and yesterday and today soft feathery stuff plus some down from our cat. They have now joined the neighbourhood red wattlebirds in having cat-fur lined nests.
