Weetangera cemetery
On Thursday 12th June at dusk I counted 510
sulphur-crested cockatoos at Weetangera cemetery. Although there were almost
certainly more. They settled down to roost in the trees (1/3 of which will be
cleared due to Molonglo valley development). This strongly suggests that these
birds are different to the ones that roost at Uriarra, which I visited a little while ago and
there were about 100 birds.
On about the 25th of April I also did a count
with a friend at Weetangera cemetery and counted 450 birds. But last Thursday
there were many more.
