Went this afternoon to the lower slopes of Mt Majura to count the birds that fly along its eastern flank towards roosting sites: I didn't see Noisy Friarbirds, I had hoped for, but counted a total of 36 Red Wattlebirds (RW), passing in singles to max. of 4; 59 King Parrots (KP), 121 Crimson Rosellas (CR) and 521 Pied Currawongs (PC).

RWs and PCs flew across at a good height despite the wind, while KPs came at  tree height  and CRs closer to the ground,  as usual for both species.

The hight number of RWs was unexpected.
