Despite the somewhat inclement, but desperately needed, weather I found myself wandering around Lake Gininderra this morning. Over 60 minutes I wrote down 30 species which wasn't too bad, given the conditions. The most interesting sighting was 4 Brown Quail on the NW corner of the Peninsula (basically where the bike path starts to cross the dam wall). There seemed to be more Darters (6) around than I have usually seen at this Lake - perhaps the willow clearance is causing them to disperse from LBG?
There was quite a lot of eucalyptus blossom on the Peninsula. This was being enjoyed by, amongst others, (approx 20) White-naped Honeyeaters (all with a nice orange eye-ring) and (9) Fuscous honeyeaters.
