This morning, a single Yellow-billed Spoonbill at Kellys Swamp, first I have seen there for a long time, although I seem to recall another recent report. Otherwise lots of the usual suspects including Whistling Kite (2), Little Eagle (1 light morph), Kestrel (1), Starlings (500+), Shoveler (40). Over the creek many eucalypts are in flower, notably Euc leucoxylon and some Red Box. More to come judging from the various trees in heavy bud, including an ironbark. Plenty of honeyeaters in the flowering trees – New Holland, Yellow-faced, White-naped, Fuscous, Red Wattlebirds. Will be worth keeping an eye on as winter progresses.

Cheers

Steve
